BIRTH AND POSTPARTUM DOULAS
CD(DONA), CPpD, CLEC, Evidence Based Birth® Instructor, Doula Mentor
By providing services as a certified birth doula, certified postpartum doula, and certified lactation educator counselor, and through teaching childbirth classes as an Evidence Based Birth® Instructor, I am able to offer comprehensive, compassionate support to all birthing families. Pregnancy and childbirth are normal, natural processes, and I trust the intuitive wisdom and strength of the birthing person. There is not one way to birth, and I believe each family does best when they are informed and supported as they navigate pregnancy, childbirth, and early parenthood.
I have experienced first-hand the transformative power of birth. Today, I am Mom to a happy, curious five-year-old who is a constant reminder of the beautiful simplicity in this world. My teammate-for-life, my husband David, is the steady calm upon which our family floats. In addition to fostering community and connection with expecting families and fellow birth professionals, I enjoy spontaneous outdoor adventures, connecting with nature, cooking, spending time with my family and friends, movement meditation, and crafting and using natural remedies to maintain optimal health. Wellness starts from within, and I prioritize taking care of myself so that I can be fully present and available for my family and the families I serve.
As a birth doula I have been honored with opportunities to support families welcoming their first baby through their fifth, and beyond! I support families of all structures and identities seeking the following pregnancy and birth experiences: hospital, birth center, home, unmedicated, epidural, cesarean, VBAC, multiples, IVF, IUI, teen parents, advanced maternal age, low- risk, high-risk, and more.
It would be a privilege and an honor to walk beside your family as you welcome your littlest addition.

Marissa supports parents from pregnancy to parenthood as a Doula, Childbirth Educator and Prenatal/Postnatal Yoga instructor. Her journey as a birth supporter began 10 years ago by becoming a Birthing From Within mentor and has been enhancing the lives of birthing families ever since. Marissa is very passionate about creating safe spaces for parents to awaken and empower themselves through the portals of the childbearing year. She believes the transformation available during that time happens within a container of being held by a mentor.
Marissa’s approach to being a Doula is to love and support people unconditionally and to empower them with information, practices, and processes. She believes if birthing people received the care and support they deserve, the world would be a happier, healthier place.
After becoming a mother in 2017, a deep passion to be part of improving birth outcomes and experiences was ignited. Bringing a child into the world is a rite of passage that can benefit from community support. Whether families want to labor in nature, a hospital or anything in between, I am a space holder for their vision and goals. I encourage parents to advocate for themselves and build confidence in their own intuition and strength. Navigating the options throughout the perinatal season can be overwhelming. I share my knowledge and resources, which include a foundation of human rights, informed consent, mindfulness techniques, intuitive, guided labor positions, and vocalizations, as well as incorporating partner involvement.
I am currently working on my DONA certification and am a Lactation Education Counselor. I have taken workshops through Evidence Based Birth, Birth Monopoly, Spinning Babies and Naoli Vinaver. I am part of a mentorship and doula circle where we inspire each other and learn new ways to best assist our clients. I create belly castings and enjoy integrating ritual, ceremony, music, and herbal remedies into my offerings. I also channel insight and guidance through oracle and tarot readings. My favorite sources of wisdom are animal, Native American and Zen teachings.
I would love to meet you and see if I would be a good fit to support your family through the adventures of pregnancy, birth and breastfeeding.
Chazlynn strongly believes that giving birth is the most powerful right of passage any human being can go through, and with support and guidance, can be the most beautiful and magical experience of one’s life. She witnessed her first birth when she was 12 years old, as her nephew entered this world, and it changed her life forever.
Many years later, with her best friend pregnant, she received her Doula training in San Francisco to help support the birth of her goddaughter. This began Chazlynn’s journey as a Doula. After having both of her children at home, she decided to focus on her family. Now that her children are older, she is excited to support families with their own incredible birth experiences.
It is part of Chazlynn’s life purpose to help people bring babies into this world in a sacred and healthy way. She loves supporting humans during this precious time. However families choose to birth their babies, at home or in a hospital, her goal is to help their vision come to life.
Chazlynn believes in the power of the human spirit, and the inherent intelligence of the human body. She loves being there to help empower people to trust in the divine connection of body, mind and spirit throughout the birth journey. Chazlynn supports families and helps them discover what they feel is best for themselves before, during and after the birth.
Beyond the birth, Chazlynn’s offerings include placenta encapsulation, belly casting, baby shower ritual, folding laundry, guidance and assistance with food preparation after the birth. It is truly her honor to be of service to growing families.
